Front garden really takes shape
Whilst we still have a bit to do, well the planting for a start, the hard landscaping is nearly complete. With the long curvaceous nature of the design the paving was always going to be tricky but, as ever, Alex found the solution and everything is looking good. To mark the step we have set led lights into the brickwork and these will be controlled by a dawn/dusk photocell so that whenever the house is approached at night there will be light to show the way. Also, look at the fencing we have used at the back of the garden. We didn’t want to shut out all the light (this could be quite a dark space) and there was not the budget for cedar or other hardwood ‘trellis’, so we constructed a ‘faux cedar’ fence from good old (well new) roofing batten stained with Cuprinol Timbercare Rustic Oak. I think you will agree that the effect is worthwhile and the cost is minimal. Here are some updated photographs
