In conjunction with Henry Dale we made this short video telling the story behind landscape:evolution - well how I changed career from farming to design at least. Garden designers are often (although not always) career changers. When I retrained my fellow students came from a wide base, city bankers, IT consultants, illustrators - all looking for a new direction.  We all had the same passion and our backgrounds gave us a different outlook on the design process. My farming background allows me to design gardens that are practical - without being naive.  Because I understand how things are built I can design my gardens so that they fit - I don’t like to waste resources, whether that be materials or clients cash and it is this desire to make a garden ‘work’ that sets us apart from others.
