Day three on the front garden
Still the weather is not being kind but this is February so what can you expect. The slabs are being laid now, once these are in place the smaller setts (a bit like a cobble stone) will be laid for the path. The slope, even on this small space, means that we will have a couple of steps near the garage which will give us the opportunity of using some 12 volt led deck lights. These will be set into the sides of the steps to light up the edge - looking ‘cool’ and safe at the same time. I like lighting in the garden - it extends the time you can enjoy the ‘outdoor space’. There is a wide range available, 240v, 12v, LED and Halogen - possibly too much to take in all at once but we do all that anyway. We design our own lighting plans so take all this into account at the design stage. These pictures show how we are widening the drive so that the client can park both their cars easily and without banging wing mirrors. Once the drive is made up with hardcore a new layer of slate chippings will be added to blend the new with the old.
